Screen printed ink on dark shirts
Printing light ink on a dark garment needs an underbase — a layer of white laid down first so the color on top reads true instead of sinking into the fabric. It is the reason a design can look different on a black tee than the same design on white. We handle it either way; it is worth knowing when you pick a garment color.
Heather and blended colors
Heathers are spun from mixed fibers, so the hex values here are an average of what your eye sees rather than a flat solid. Tri-blends read softer and more muted in person than the chip suggests. If an exact match matters, ask for a physical sample before the run.
Matching a brand color
Garment colors are dyed to the mill’s standard, not to a Pantone book, so a shirt will rarely land exactly on a brand color. The usual answer is to pick the closest neutral and put the brand color in the ink, where it can be mixed to spec.
Colors and your price
Garment color does not change what you pay. The number of ink colors in the design does, and so does the number of print locations. Every order includes screen printing front and back, up to two colors a side, with no setup, screen or digitizing fees.
