Embroidery Pricing

Embroidery costs $3.95 to $9.60 per logo, per piece, on top of the garment — a flat rate by quantity, not a stitch-count guess. Stitched in-house on our own 45 heads, shipped free anywhere in the USA.

What embroidery costs per logo

This is the decoration only — what Merchylo charges to stitch one standard logo in one location, per piece. Add the blank garment to it and that is the price.

Per location. A left chest and a cap back are two locations, so the rate applies twice.

Flat rate, not per thousand stitches — a 3,000-stitch monogram and a 7,000-stitch crest cost the same.

Embroidered shirts, polos, caps and hoodies

Finished price per piece, sizes S–XL, one standard logo in one location. These four are the cheapest honest example in each category; every other blank in the catalog prices off the same ladder.

Size upcharges

What the mill charges us, passed through with the same markup as the shirt itself — no extra margin on being bigger. Added to the price above. Shown at the minimum order; they come down a little at higher quantities.

What counts as a standard logo

Anything up to about 7,000 stitches and roughly 40 square inches — which covers a left chest, a cap front, a sleeve, a bag panel and most back-yoke logos. That is the flat rate above, and it is what the overwhelming majority of orders are.

Bigger than that — a full jacket back, a dense filled block, photographic color — and the needle count stops being flat, so we quote it by area instead of pretending. Send the art and we’ll tell you which one you are before you commit to anything.

Minimum order for embroidery

Six pieces. Screen printing needs 24 because screens have to be burned and reclaimed either way; embroidery only needs the file digitized once, so six is a real order. DTF is also six.

The six is counted across the run, not per garment — twelve caps and twelve polos with the same logo is a 24-piece run, not two orders.

Digitizing is free

Most shops charge $15 to $75 to convert your logo into a stitch file, then charge it again when you come back with a different size. Merchylo absorbs it. You send a logo in whatever form you have it — vector, a JPG, a photo of an old cap — and the stitch file, the sew-out and the mockup cost nothing.

Embroidery or screen print?

On a plain cotton tee, screen print is cheaper and it is not close. Gildan 5000, one logo, per shirt:

If the job is 100 tees for a 5K, print them.

Embroidery earns its price everywhere ink struggles — piqué polos, caps, fleece, jackets, bags, anything with a texture or a waterproof face. It also outlasts the garment, which is why uniforms are stitched and giveaways are printed. Under about a dozen pieces embroidery is the only one of the two that will take the job at all.

What’s included

  • No digitizing fees — ever, including revisions
  • No setup fees
  • No hoop or thread-color charges
  • Free shipping anywhere in the USA
  • Free mockup before you pay a cent
  • Free artwork — no logo? We draw one
  • Reprint or refund if we get it wrong
  • Stitched in-house on our own 45 heads

Thread colors

Up to fifteen thread colors in one design at no extra charge — unlike screen print, a color in embroidery is a needle, not another screen and another pass. We match to your brand colors and show you the thread chart on the mockup.

Other garments

Quarter-zips, jackets, vests, beanies, bags, aprons and towels all price off the same ladder with a different blank. Tell us the garment and we’ll give you the number.

Artwork

Send whatever you have. Vector files digitize best, but a photo of an old cap is enough to start — we redraw it, digitize it and show you the mockup before anything reaches a machine.

Turnaround

Most orders arrive 6 to 8 business days from the day you order, and we’ll tell you the date before you commit. On a deadline? Say so and we’ll tell you honestly whether it fits.

Why these prices are lower

Most custom apparel sites have never touched an embroidery machine. They take your order, send it to a shop, and add their markup — you’re paying a company that pays another company to stitch your caps. We are the shop: thirty years, 45 heads, over 10 million prints and stitches on our own equipment. One less company taking a cut.

Want the number for your job?

Tell us the garment, the quantity and where the logo goes, and we’ll send a free mockup and real pricing the same business day. No obligation.
